Should an emergency or urgent medical problem arise out of surgery hours (18:00 - 08:30 each week day, weekends, public holidays) telephone NHS 24 direct on 111

www.nhs24.com

You will need to give the patient’s name, age address, telephone number and the nature of the problem.  If a consultation is necessary you may be asked to attend an Out-of-Hours Emergency Treatment Centre (Stobhill Hospital, Western Infirmary).

If you are housebound or very seriously ill, the doctor will call to see you at your home.  Please note that this is an emergency service and if you feel that a call can wait until the next day then phone before 10:00 the following morning.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
