Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Home visits should only be made for patients who are seriously ill or housebound.  Please make every effort to come to the surgery as this gives the doctor more time, better facilities and the opportunity to do tests if required.  This helps to deal more efficiently with your problem.

If a visit is required, (e.g. for the housebound or terminally ill) then please telephone, if possible , between 08:30 and 10:00 to request that the doctor calls.

All requests for house calls are vetted by a doctor.  This is to ensure an effective service as far as possible for all our patients.  Urgent calls will be made as soon as possible.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
